broken boys look good sitting on their shelves...

...a band that will likely always remain on my gig wish-list....i love this song, featuring Emily Haines of Metric fame. This is definitely on my 'lone bus journeys' playlist...

Backyards - Broken Social Scene

they made a statue of us...

what's my age again?

so i lamed out and didn't make it to the awesome night, What's My Age Again? at the Old Blue Last in Shoreditch last night....but the boys had a good time (wearing their corresponding t-shirts above...apparently a coincidence) ...and Nick even managed to keep his shoes on in the mosh pit this time...well done Nick, your feet love you again...
...an ode to the night...my favourite Weezer song ever...

And you can tell me all about what you did today...

...i really like the lyrics to this song...a lot. Hoping I can go and see these guys in my hometown in March...in the meantime...buy tickets to see them....they're awesome...

The Modern Leper - Frightened Rabbit

...love, don't cry...

...and they don't. i adore the Yeah Yeah Yeahs...still, after all these years...my favourite band. so it's a happy day because the video for Skeletons has been released....by far the most beautiful song from It's Blitz...but don't worry Maps, it always has and always will be you.

hanging around, nothing to do but frown...

Rainy Days And Mondays - The Carpenters

...in the whole history of music you will not find a more beautiful voice than this....and since London has brought rain, and another Monday i thought it quite apt...

...seems that I'm always, thinking of you...

You Really Got A Hold On Me - She & Him

...i finally watched (500) Days of Summer this weekend, and well...despite its message it hasn't done any wonders for my overly romantic nature...in fact, Tom and I share too many similarities. but it got me listening to more She & Him...which has resulted in a slight obsession with Zooey Deschanel ...oh lordy she's mighty cool...

...because we know we're gonna be up late...

...in celebration of getting a ticket to see LCD Soundsystem in April (thank you Andy!)...as obvious as it is, my all-time favourite...

Someone Great - LCD Soundsystem

...not only is James Murphy likely to knock our socks off but all my friends (see what i did there?) are going too, i literally cannot wait...

more New Jersey love...

... a petri dish-style experiment of Dayve Hawke, merging elements from his other projects, Weird Tapes and Memory Cassette....i couldn't choose a favourite...so i didn't...

Gig Review: Chew Lips

...my first gig of 2010 and Chew Lips did not disappoint one bit. I say with confidence that Tigs is the best front woman I have seen since Karen O...dancing in her own sweet and sexy way around the stage entertaining us all in her golden dress....

...her voice is as incredible live as on record ..."never knew what we got into...now it seems it was history, thoughts from a past life"...
...it's been said that they draw influence from LCD Soundsystem so i may be alone in this but i don't find them altogether dissimilar from New Young Pony Club in the early days, but they have something i like...and i just think (and hope) i might see them at some summer festivals this year...
...hightlight for me, of course, was Slick. But a new love I've found in Karen (ironic?)....featured on the new record out this month...
